Any Modifications: The stocks of both have been cut down and shaped for a more custom fit.
Began shooting: I began shooting in 2022 competitively.
My shooting career began as hunting with my dad and the first “real” gun I shot for those hunts was a muzzle loader. A few weeks before we’d go up to the mountains he would have me draw the outline of a deer on cardboard and we use that as target practice. A while after our last deer hunt my dad asked me if I would be interested in clay target sports. It was a small high school team that did trap and skeet every Tuesday for 5 weeks. It was fun, there wasn’t a lot of coaching to go with these practices, and it wasn’t until the high school nationals that I decided I wanted to be really good at shooting.
By chance, my dad came across a small skeet tournament that two of the SCTP teams were shooting in. At this tournament both coaches approached my parents offering spots on their teams, I chose the Northern Colorado Clay Crushers where I spent shooting the rest of my high school career. A year after I joined the crushers I started shooting more tournaments and I met my sporting clays coach. In just over a year I was able to climb from D class to AA and I started going to more tournaments out of state and my senior year I was the first female in Colorado history to win HOA at SCTP state. Now, I shoot on the varsity team at Jacksonville University.

What’s your advice on getting new lady shooters involved?
Shooting is truly the lifetime sport, you’ll meet great people in every discipline and going out to the range with friends and family makes a great Sunday afternoon. When starting out, don’t be hard on yourself, celebrate every hit as if you ran the whole course and treat every loss as an opportunity to get better.
What knowledge can you share that would make ladies better shooters?
Go out and shoot as much as you can, shoot in registered tournaments, there you will meet people who will help you grow. Whether that be in your skill or in your mental game. Shooting in tournaments also prepares you for a competition setting if you want to go to larger shoots in the future.
Notable Wins:
- HOA Colorado state SCTP (men and women)
- Colorado SCTP sporting clays champion
- Colorado state SCTP trap champion
- Colorado State FITASC champion NSCA
- Colorado state preliminary champion NSCA
- 7th place lady at Jack Links Super Sporting
What gear do you use?
My preferred gear is Pilla lenses with blade frames. A visor to keep everything in place (hair and glasses), the ear plugs I use are standard foam ones. The ammunition I shoot varies in brand from when I’m home and at school, at home I shoot 12 gauge 1oz Fiocchi’s and at school I shoot 12 gauge 1oz Clevers. And my vest is a Castellani in the women’s fit version. During practice and competitions I found that long sleeves and t-shirts take away a lot of my mobility, so I usually wear a tank top paired with shorts or long pants. Of course things change in the winter months, those months I go for a thin, baggy sweatshirt to keep that mobility. For shoes I wear sneakers year round.
